Let's carry on with the tutorial on how to build a digital business online in 2024 and beyond.
Earlier sections covered the foundational aspects of how to choose a business model, pick your ideal niche, and get the right tools.
We were discussing the vital importance of learning how to sell. And talked about copywriting, advertising and email marketing.
In this section, we'll extend this further into learning how to sell more products or services to your audience.

One way to grow and scale your business is to sell more.
This gets into the area of strategic business optimization - where you plan and execute a certain set of actions designed to
grow your business bigger,
make it more profitable, and
deliver even more value to a larger client base
Now, some might argue that these are advanced tactics. That a beginner entrepreneur who sets up a digital business cannot be wasting time on this. She must learn to walk before she can run.
And all of that is valid criticism.
Still, it's important to at least introduce business optimization into our conversation at this early stage - because then you'll see just how much is possible.
When you're starting out to build a digital business, there are times when you feel it's all too much effort and expense - for what appears to be only modest return.
But once you hear about business optimization... and see how you could MULTIPLY the impact of all you're doing... and set it all up to run automatically, without any ongoing effort or expense... THAT is the point when it all begins to come together.
The point at which you start to see just how big this can grow.
You'll be excited - at the staggering potential that lies ahead.
You'll be energized - to work on building a solid foundation.
You'll be enthusiastic - about doing the dull, boring work initially.
This is the reason why I want to showcase just 3 of many available options for business optimization.
You'll see how these 'force-multipliers' can transform your business success and skyrocket your profits - without demanding much of your limited time, money and energy to do so.
Ready to have your mind blown?
Great!
Let's talk about business optimization and how to multiply profits with your digital business online.

DON’T MISS:
1. Upsells
There's a kind of selling technique that's both familiar - and mysterious.
Familiar, because you've very likely seen it in action before.
At your local McDonald's, the teenager behind the counter asks: "And would you like fries with that?"
If you answer 'Yes' (you often do, don't you?), you've likely boosted the franchise's bottom-line profit by a significant fraction!
Because compared to the extra cost (in time, money or effort) that the business incurs to get you to order a bag of fries, the profit they'll earn from your decision is huge!
That's the power of an upsell.
What's an upsell?
Just something extra (or more) that you're sold AFTER you've made a buying decision.
Let's say you've determined to buy yourself an ice-cream cone. You ask for one - and are thinking of the Medium size... when the barista suggests you go with Large.
Maybe you hesitate for just a second or two - and then agree!
The amount of your bill went up by 30%, or 50%, or even more. All of the extra is pure profit to the store-owner.
Or you might step into the store deciding to buy a box of washing soap, or a bottle of detergent, or a box of toilet paper - only to find there's a 'Buy 1, Get 1 Free' offer going on.
You change your mind - and grab the deal. And in the process, spend more than you'd intended to.
All of these are upsells.
And as long as the item you're buying costs less than the additional price you'll pay, the store makes a bigger profit from these upsells.
Think about ways to do this with your digital infoproduct business.
There are many ideas you could try.
Offer a discount on related items for buyers of your infoproduct
Bundle many ebooks together and price them at a discount
Throw in a group membership or other perks at less than regular rate
Suggest a premium version of your infoproduct with more value
Include a print edition of a digital ebook
Let them gift one copy to a friend - at half price
Upsells work even with a digital business. It takes a little creativity to come up with solutions. And there are nuances to get right - such as knowing
when to make the offer,
what price point works best,
how many different upsells you can make,
which items are easiest to upsell,
where to present your offer
In a popular guide called 'Power Upsell Secrets Exposed' you can learn all about these details - and it will boost the power and profitability of your upsells.
Once you figure all of this out and create the perfect upsell process, your profits can grow by 67% - literally overnight!
2. Bonuses
Here's another way to boost sales conversion rates, turbocharge profits, and gain many more new clients for your digital business.
Offer your buyers bonuses and incentives.
Now there's the obvious advantage. Everyone enjoys getting more value for less money. So when they get an extra benefit in addition to whatever they buy from you, clients will be happy.
But there's also the less obvious advantage from throwing in bonuses and incentives.
For one, the rate of sales conversion almost always increases with bonuses. This means for the same expense in advertising, you'll make more money - which leaves you with more cash to draw as profits, or deploy into more advertising.
For another, bonuses let you introduce clients to your other offers. So by throwing in as a bonus one part or sample of other products or services you offer, you'll entice at least a few of them to later come back and purchase the full deal.
And then, there's the 'delight factor', where an already satisfied client is pushed over the top by the extra value you provided by way of your bonuses.
So when deployed strategically, your bonus gifts can do a great job at business optimization.
They will translate into future purchases, bigger (and more profitable) sales, more word-of-mouth advertising for your digital business, and a loyal, committed client-base.
These become a solid bedrock upon which your business can scale bigger and grow to unimagined heights.

The tricky part lies in determining
what bonuses to offer
where to source them
how to create and distribute these gifts inexpensively
when to mention these bonuses
why and how to highlight their value
Because when you do all of this well, the impact and benefits from offering bonuses will become explosively powerful in rocketing your brand and business to the top.
In a module of my 9-part program 'How To Sell More', I cover the topic of 'Bonuses and Incentives' in great depth and detail. Along with the other 8 'force multipliers' taught on this course, you'll be able to grow your digital business profitability by a large multiple.

3. Follow Up
In the previous section about learning how to sell, we talked about email marketing.
During that lesson, you also learned about the value of being able to follow up with prospects and gradually convert them into buyers.
This can help boost sales revenue and increase profits with your digital business.
But there are also other advantages to follow up marketing.
One of the most effective ways to sell is called 'Educational-Consultative Selling'.
It's also among the least threatening forms.
Listen, most regular folks - and I include many entrepreneurs among them - are reluctant to hop on a platform to hawk their wares to an audience of strangers.
Or to wave a flyer in someone's face, demanding that they buy stuff from them.
But ask the same person to sit quietly by the side of a friend, and explain how exactly their product or service helps solve a problem...
Or invite them to explain how, by owning their guide or manual, someone's life would become easier, stress-free or comfortable...
... and they'll readily oblige.
The reason is that most of us are naturally inclined to be helpful.
We see informing others about a helpful solution, or explaining how something works, or consulting with them about a problem they face, as a part of ourselves.
A part we enjoy, don't shy back from, and actually see as being our duty and responsibility!
Now, when you harness that attitude to a product or service you offer in your digital business, you're no longer "selling" to a crowd of prospects... you're "educating" them, or "consulting" with them.
And it works in a similar fashion upon your prospects.
Nobody likes to be 'pitched' or 'sold' stuff - especially when they cannot really see the point of it, or aren't actively seeking a solution at the moment.
But almost everyone is curious to learn more.
And information that's presented as being 'informational' rather than 'commercial' is better received - with less resistance or suspicion.
Once a potential buyer has been made aware of a good solution to a vexing problem, or a valuable service to enhance their life in some way, it's more likely that they'll be receptive to considering a pitch for a product your digital business offers.
Instead of you trying hard to 'sell' them... they will be eager to BUY from you.
There's just one fly in the ointment here!
All of this takes time.
With the best of intentions, you simply cannot afford to spend time one-on-one with hundreds of prospective shoppers in the hope of finding a few who might buy from you.
And without a way to constantly communicate with them, you'll lose out on the opportunity to convert many curious prospects into cash-paying clients.
That is what makes 'Follow Up' marketing so powerful.
You can follow up with prospects and clients by a variety of methods.
Email is quick, convenient and inexpensive.
Phone calls are easy, though more time consuming.
Text messages and SMS can work.
Sending out postcards and direct mail marketing too.
In-person interaction, with sales teams reaching out to clients, may be necessary for some complex or costly sales.
And the best results come from a mixture of various approaches.
When a prospective shopper at your digital business gets
a welcome phone call,
a value-loaded series of email messages,
a discount coupon via SMS,
a friendly phone call from an operative announcing a special seasonal sale, and
a greeting or special offer in the post
...they are going to see your brand and business in a different light, view it through different eyes.
Do this consistently and well, and they cannot help but do business with you - sometime or the other.
